Girls 13O Tech Suit Fitting

My swimmer is a backstroker and her coach told her to get a closed back suit. That was her first real tech suit. Her 12&Under performance suits were all open back. As for the closed back suit, she had zero issues with it. She eventually got an open back suit but rarely wears it and it is not her "good/lucky" suit.

This is going to be body type dependent. My swimmer is smaller (5’5 and about 105 lbs) and not curvy and she had no issue with the closed back suit. It was recommended she try one when she turned 13 because her best events are back and breast and it’s worked out for her.

If you are getting a properly fitted tight tech suit, then I stand by the fact that a first suit being closed back is a mistake. If you are just buying on that your kid can put on in 10 min I guess it doesn't matter.

And a 12u suit and a 13 up suit are totally different in levels of compression if properly fitted. So please unless your kid is begging for closed back avoid. Or if you don't know, speak to someone knowledgeable at Metro.

You have several people who disagree with you that one size fits all. Different kids, different strokes, different body types. There is no one right thing here.
