Mid 40’s and contact lens wearing

Anonymous
Wore them daily from 12 to 43. Slowly started transitioning to glasses more and now in late 40s because of dry eyes- now only wear contacts on special occasions-maybe once a month.

My dry eyes got bad enough that I now do IPL treatments which help but are pricey.

I stopped wearing them in my late 40s. Just too painful due to dryness.

Never found a drop that worked well enough - OTC or prescription - to continue with contacts.

Maybe sjogrens- get tested.

I switched to glasses with progressives in my late 40s. I didn’t like not being able to read well with contacts in. I can read fine without glasses but not with contacts in. Now I don’t worry about the dry eye issues either which would likely have worsened with hormonal changes.

+1 worse them for 15 years but in my 40s they made my eyes miserable. Now I only wear them on special occasions

They put me on retasis for my dry eyes. Now my contacts are comfortable again.
