Hello again troll. Time for a feeding? |
We are worried about that too. Counselor postmortem thinks it's a fit problem with the ED1. Thinks Bowdoin is a better fit with DC's ECs and character. |
| Only people affiliated with Bowdoin use the term "WASP-B." It's kind of pathetic. |
This. ED2 and then will get in RD. RD at at Bowdoin is total crap shoot even for high stats kids because they have a few hundred spots and about a gazillion applicants. It's impossible to stand out. |
|
ED1 to favorite school.
same goes for ED2 |
Counselor is an idiot. Go down a notch for ED2. Lots of great SLACs with a real ED2 advantage - Midd, Grinnell etc. |
| Why did your kid ED1 to a school that wasn't his top choice? They should have ED1'ed to Bowdoin since that was top choice. |
That may be the best senario. |
But still an unlikely one. It really all depends on the backup options and degree of risk aversion. |
| I’d love to know the “strategic” ED1 choice that the counselor suggested over DC’s top school Bowdoin. |
+1 |
Go for what you think is the fit. Good luck to your kid! Bowdoin is a great place. My kid did ED1 but 2 of her roommates did ED2. |
More pathetic to be the “Acronym Police” on an anonymous forum. |
JHU. He thought DC's super high score and rigor would be more helpful at JHU than Bowdoin. It's only “strategic” from the school's perspective. |
Who is this counselor?!? Such different schools! |
