Anyone watching the Chilean mine rescue?

We don't have cable, so I was watching channel 4. They've switch to regular news now. I imagine it's live on CNN, though.

It's the moment of glory for the country. I was born far far away from Chile but feel very proud.

What a diference between the first rescued guy and the second

I've been tuning in on this since it began and my prayer is that all miners will be lifted out safely. This is a modern day miracle so just for once keep snarky remark out of the picture. Just for one time can't there be a consensus that everyone is thriled with the job that has been done in Chile to get these miners out.

I missed the first, but I noticed that the second spent very little time embracing his wife. I might be tempted to send him back down.

He did! He spent more time hugging Pinera.

It's hardly a miracle, but it is a remarkable feat of engineering. The job was (and is) being done in Chile with participation from an international host of the best/brightest/most experienced with analogous situations.

If you don't care for the snark, I suggest you take your comments to DC Suburban Moms Who Collect Precious Moments And Hummel Figurines (DCSMWCPMAHF for short). They're likely to be a more sentimental bunch.
