| There are plenty of kids in core CCDC (and AUPARK) who go to public. I would guess 95% of the K-5 set attended Lafayette. The peeling off starts in middle school and then more in high school. But Somerset and Westmoreland Hills are lovely too in that respect |

Edited to add:
There are plenty of kids in core CCDC (and AUPARK) who go to public. I would guess 95% of the K-5 set in the **several blocks closest to the school** attended Lafayette. The peeling off starts in middle school and then more in high school. But Somerset and Westmoreland Hills are lovely too in that respect |
| Bannockburn in Bethesda is a very friendly place, and we have two neighborhood pools! It’s nice to be in walking distance to the river and towpath as well. |
The Lafayette, Janney, Murch, Stoddert, Key and Mann ESs have tons of neighborhood kids attending. You lose like 20% - 30% to private when they go to MS, and then you lose 20%-30% of Hardy and Deal to private for HS. However, my DCPS kid to this day is very good friends with kids who went to GDS and Sidwell starting in Middle School because they continued to play on sports teams together. |
| Another vote for Westmoreland Hills. When we moved in ten years ago, our block was older couples. It's turned over completely with school-aged kids in almost every house. A wonderful community feel with block parties, dinner parties, 4th of July party in the park, treat-or-treating for Halloween, the Ice Cream Man (Phil) who drives through every day in warm months. A couple of nights ago, Santa came through on the fire truck. It's hilly and wooded, but since the neighborhood is enclosed on three sides (reservoir, crescent trail, parkway), there are no cars driving through to get somewhere else. Can walk to Spring Valley restaurants. Love it so much. We'll stay here til we're one of the old couples that people wish would move on. Kids go to Westbrook and then private. |

Look at this one zoned to Janney, Deal, Jr. https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/5115-42nd-St-NW-20016/home/9961313

| All of these suggestions are sound, but I’d like to caution you that this cuts both ways. Neighborhoods with more MILFs means more temptation for DH, and ultimately more risk of your marriage failing due to infidelity. It happened to me. I wish we went with a neighborhood with less MILFs. |
Well…this is certainly a different take. |
Do you have an idea of these neighborhoods or specific blocks by name that are MILF havens? |
Another plug for Bannockburn! Can’t tell who might possibly be a MILF as it’s all athleisure all the time. Really a very outdoorsy neighborhood.
|
Just be careful with neighborhood pool waitlists... when we were looking most were 5-7 years, so if you already have kids they won't really be able to take advantage of it. Somerset is the only one I know of where living in the town is an automatic in. |
Thanks for the laugh PP, haven’t laughed that hard in a while |
| What's a MILF? |
A MILF is a hot mom. Some neighborhoods have a lot of them, like Kenwood. Other neighborhoods they aren’t very hot, like Alta Vista / Maplewood just to name one example. |
