Reed has robotics clubs/teams? I can't find anything about it through a Google search. Do you have a link? |
| Very few. If he’s dedicated to robotics, look at Dartmouth. You’re gonna struggle to find a lac good at robotics, but there’s a CVS list good at mathematics. |
The contributor up-topic was conservative. The "building is expected to open for classes in early 2027." In that Hamilton's resources place it among the most financially stable and, presumably, well managed colleges in the country — note its current financial grade of A+ by Forbes — I wouldn't worry about the school getting the project completed on or close to schedule. As an opinion, the coming year or two would be a great time for a student interested in the rapidly changing technologies of electronics, robotics, or drones to attend Hamilton. |
Almost every good engineering school will have very sold clubs in robotics and rocketry and so on. But you don't want schools with good engineering. That really limits things. There really aren't a lot of liberal arts colleges that do well here. I can't think of anything besides Harvey Mudd. Maybe Cooper Union? |
None of this has to do with robotics. |
Agreed. |

1st page PP.
Perhaps consider CMU, which is a smaller university. There are going to be engineering geeks there. But my friend got an English degree there and they are known for theater. There might be enough of the right vibe but it would take some digging. It is a grindy school. But Math is in the Science college. https://www.cmu.edu/admission/majors-programs/mellon-college-of-science https://www.cmu.edu/math/undergrad/degrees.html https://www.reddit.com/r/math/comments/b8s9si/carnegie_mellon_mathematics/ |
+1, also robotics lab that has...what? It appears their robotics club only went to one tournament the whole year. People need to get real and stop falling prey to these ads. |
| Just a note that the Hamilton College robotics lab is a research lab, not for students to compete with. |
Please don't compare your grad school to an undergrad college experience no matter the major. My kid is a freshman at a top engineering school, rushed a fraternity last semester, went to football games, parties, made tons of friends and is absolutely enjoying the complete college experience. |

DD has this specific interest as well. Wash U has multiple options but not SLAC. Bowdoin had program that seems to have fallen by the wayside. Swat has small program. William and Mary has small program. Grinnell has program. Amherst has summer program.
DD has ED’d to a SLAC that promises to support kids who want to create/expand clubs. Robotics has been very important to her, but she wants LAC as she’ll be majoring in physics and creative writing. |
Note that Cooper Union does not offer a math major, nor is it a liberal arts college. |
That has nothing to do with my comment, but good for your kid! I TA'd undergraduate students, and it's pretty difficult not to see undergraduate life when they're surrounding you. |
A 41,000-square-foot tech facility with a robotics lab has a lot to do with robotics. |
So a non Asian heavy school that's why no Eng schools? A SLAC? Does Carleton have Robotics? |
