And the latest (accidentally published for a day draft) scenario pulls in Lees Corner. So possibly a substantial number of kids attending Franklin could end up at Western.

I hadn't heard of this. Is there a saved copy somewhere?

Don’t think so. I wish I had taken screenshots. It had the Options A-D they have already shown us, plus an Option E, with the ability to make comments on each one just like the main boundary study. It left Westfield at like 60% capacity, which seems like that means it was a work in progress not (yet) meant for public consumption. But it had most if not all of Lees Corner going to Western with Rt 50 being the edge of the boundary, with none of Oakton or South Lakes going.

There was speculation that it was made by Rooted in Oakton because the URL path wasn’t right.

I think someone determined that it was the same url that THRU used--but I don't know or understand the distinction.

However, PP is correct in what it showed. It was a ridiculous suggestion--but it also sent Centreville kids to Chantilly instead of Westfield.

What is wrong with these people? Why can't they act like adults, establish a boundary now, and work towards getting Western ready ASAP to accommodate freshmen through juniors so it's a real school from its inception?

Has there ever been a bigger dope in charge of FCPS than Michelle Reid? [url]

This exactly!!!! Reid has reached Braband levels of stupidity.

Do we really need 800 threads about this?

Ok then pull the Oak Hill kids out of advisory and leave the rest of us the hell alone!

You sound like a Navy mom. What do you expect your kid to be doing during advisory the week before Winter break? I mean, really.

They got it at Hughes? That's the first I've heard of Reston being in the mix. I know people have been arguing about the Fox Mill area that goes to South Lakes but most of Hughes boundary is straight up Reston and Hughes and South Lakes share the same campus. Maybe it's to appeal to those who want AP and can opt in?

There are in boundary Crossfield kids at Hughes.

Lady, put down the bottle!!! All kids within the boundaries of Oakton, Chantilly, Westfield, Centerville, and South Lakes will have the option to attend Western, regardless of whether they are in boundary or not. THAT MEANS YOUR KID. So, sorrynotsorry, but this does apply to you. Relax. Get help.

DP, but this is false. They want to generate more interest but they won’t treat all these kids the same. Stop pushing your lies.

What do you mean by "they won't treat all these kids the same"?

What happens if you don’t opt in and eventually end up in boundary? Do your kids eventually have to attend Western? How soon?

I hate them for creating so much confusion and uncertainty. Where is there a clear description in one place of how this will work?

Meaning, if you are not in boundary, but opt in you won’t have bus transportation. Parents will have to drive them. No thanks.

You’re an idiot. My kid will actually not have the option to attend because I’m not driving them on a daily basis. It’s an automatic no for us. We are not going to be in boundary so there would be no bus transportation. I’m also not switching my child to a school that is further away from their base school and where none of their friends would be going. I don’t give a d@mn what offerings the joint has.

What lies am I pushing? I said "All kids within the boundaries of Oakton, Chantilly, Westfield, Centerville, and South Lakes will have the option to attend Western, regardless of whether they are in boundary or not."

Please tell me exactly what the lie is in that statement?

Liek I said, put down the bottle, LOL!
