+100. The woe is me crowd certainly is riled up. At some point they’ll realize that school boundaries are not forever and not conveyed with the house. |

Well, yeah. There’s levels to this. Said this in another thread but bears repeating:
I’m a Wootton parent. My neighbors are construction executives and a descendant of an extremely successful local business owner. My cousin is a Magruder parent. His neighbors are teachers and accountants. |
THAT.IS.SO.STUPID. |
My cousin is a Magruder parent and he is an oncologist. I am a Wootton parent, a fed, and live in a tiny old Rockshire townhouse. |
Based on context I can tell that you're probably saying that your neighbors are very well to do and successful. But without the context it means nothing to me and I'm pretty sure it's the same with a lot of the people I know as well. Maybe it's better that your neighbors stay in their little silos if they're expecting any prestige for their roles/jobs. |
That's why they quit looking at standardized scores altogether. Because this rural kid got 31 on the ACT and graduated 3rd from a so, so high school with parents that were in the bottom quarter of household income. And that breaks the model. Because you'd have to be impressed, but you don't want to be. |
My opinion of Wooton and MCPS is decreasing. What has become obvious is that they are basically cheating demographics to "fake" quality education. The school boundaries now aren't even contiguous. I don't think it matters what the Good Schools ratings is. A) The "neighborhood" isn't that great. B) The education isn't that great. It's over for Wooton. |
No |
You really haven't done much research when you can't even spell the name of the school. It's Wootton |
I think it's over for MCPS TBH. Schools are in ghetto, MoCo is no better than PG, tax still going up... No good news here. |
With all disrespect intended. |
You misspelled “intelligence” |
Honest question. Why the disrespect? I moved to this neighborhood because the school was great and I knew it would provide a good education for my kids. And my kids are now in college and the education was exactly what I wanted. Why do you hate Wootton so much? |
Don’t mind them. They are jealous and it goes back many years. Stupid but it is what it is. |
Because you can't even figure it out yourself. |
