Shampoo lady tip

So do you pay your stylist 20 percent tip on total service and extra $10 to shampoo person? My color amount is usually $190 so I have been giving $40 to my stylist and then $5 to shampoo lady.

Terrible. But I bet you spent eight dollars on your Starbucks every day.

I don’t tip either. Shampoo person is making at least minimum. Stylist makes $$$. Salon owners are loaded. Not my responsibility to make sure they are paid.

I don’t. I’m so tired of tipping everyone. I tip the stylist and hope they tip out to them.

Bad example. Starbucks splits the tips.

A shampoo color highlighting and blowout cost $210 every 6 weeks where I am, and the stylist did everything herself

I always gave her $40

I did stop going when she started talking about politics while I was hostage, my last appointment was Jan 2020 and I never went back

I’m not dead and I have saved … five (5) years at 52 weeks, $250 every 6 weeks, divide 52 by 6 and multiply by 5

All I know is that I was way too long too stupid to have been getting those haircuts and colors at those prices

I’m bad at math I only had a 650 on the SAT in the 1980s but it’s coming out at I’ve saved like 10,400

And I could still spend $240 tomorrow and look exactly the same

So what have you been doing since Jan 2020?

Not getting my hair professionally cut or colored

What am I supposed to be doing?

DP. Do you cut your own hair? Have a friend do it? If you cut it yourself, what approach do you use? Do you color at home or skip color altogether?

Zero judgment btw -- I went years just cutting my own hair and only recently started going to a salon again. I still do my own color though.
