| I think the gifts to your kids are much more hostile than the one to OP. Instruments? Glitter? Karaoke machine? She hates you and probably your DH too. |
|
Oh wellzzz. Now you know.
Act accordingly. Also, stop w the gift swapping |
| My family gets along well and we still stopped the adult gift exchange a long time ago. We all buy for our parents, we buy for the kids. Done. So much less stressful. We just prioritize the time together. |
| Did your brother help her with any gift purchasing or was she taking it on for everyone? have a new “kids only” rule from now on. |
|
Eh. It doesn't sound that bad. You're the parent and you can take away the toys.
|
| For a mother I didn't like, I bought her child an ant farm |
|
You, an adult, expect presents from other adults? Why?
Is this your brother’s wife, or your husband’s sister? |
| Yeah, no gifts for adults. Kids get presents. I usually will add a "family" gift of homemade cookies, treats some cute kitchen items or I send flowers. |
|
She got so much for your kids! I would not have bothered with gifts for adults; they are just a waste of money.
What did you get her? |
| The gifts for your kids sound really fun! It sounds like your kids like them at least. What brands are the things she got you? They might be nicer Sephora/Nordstrom type brands that you just aren’t aware of (Summer Fridays, Kitsch, etc.) |
| Does she have kids? |
