Waste of money -- attendance letters

Just wait til your kid gets 10 and the counselor or PPW hand delivers it.

MCPS is really trying to get as many schools to have a 4 or 5 star rating and getting absenteeism in check is one key focus area.

This and it doesn't matter if the absences are excused or not. Missing just two days each month means your kid is on the track to being chronically absent. Our principal reports our school's ARCA rate to the teachers every weekend in his weekly staff memo. Our social worker and the attendance committee spends a lot of time trying to improve attendance.

I'm sure OP sent in a note. But MCPS doesn't care -- you get the same note whether it's excused or unexcused.

You might need a doctor's note after a certain amount of time to stop the clock.

Doctors note is after 5 days.

I thought it was 3
