How is a slight dip in senior grades viewed for 1st semester?

This is my kid's almost exact scenario. His ED school wanted 1Q grades, EAs did not. You have to check with each school to see what they want for senior year grades.

He got in! The one B 1Q didn't hold hold back. It's in a very rigorous class so maybe that's why.
