She’s trying to gauge interest and how much parents are willing to pay.

She’s been trying to years obviously no one is interested. Basically she wants to have an unlicensed daycare but operating it as a nanny share and expects each parent to cough up nanny rates since she’s only going to have 3-4 kids.

We love our daycare and they hold the kids as needed - yea sure, they can’t be held all the time but when mine needed support to sleep they absolutely held them until they were sleeping and transferred them to the crib. And both got great naps at daycare. This is so child and daycare specific

There's no such a high end daycare. Daycare is for people who can't afford a nanny for their baby and a half day preschool for their 3 year old.

This second part is not true at all. I say this as someone with a daycare that has a video feed and I've seen the infant and toddler rooms.

They nap to get the energy to spend more time with mom after pickup. BTDT. It has pluses and minuses. My kids are grown now. I found a decent daycare. I don't regret not having a nanny. It wouldn't have been right for our family and tiny house.

This wasn't true with my kid. My son was sick once a year and napped like a trooper at daycare. Once I went down to nurse (his daycare was in my work building and it took less time than pumping) and he was so soundly asleep they just had to text me when he woke up.

Not true at all. Our 2 kids were not sick one per month, and we're champion rappers, which they learned/got on a schedule, at daycare.

Lucky you PP, these days it is a sequence of hand and mouth, flu, RSV, rotavirus, you name it. Maybe your kid went to daycare prepandemic but I feel like there is way more illnesses these past 3 years at schools

Daycare are great! Children learns to be social y I love small daycares. Not centers
The first time they get sick..that's all.

I know a child got RSV a d HFMD because he went to the library and classes with grandma

This is the lie SAH parents and those who need to justify getting a nanny tell each other. Our kids are young adults, long past the needing a nanny/day care stage, but FFS can we please support women and families no matter what they chose? You do not need to put others down to justify your choice.

FWIW, we were and are a 2 parent working family. Fortunately, I had about 4 months home with each child. Then, they went to a NAEYC accredited day care, where they napped just fine (one kid napped better there than at home), didn't get sick all the time, had love from many qualified teachers, and they turned out just fine.

Wrong. You either had your kid in the wrong daycare or you never sent to one.

My daughter’s first childhood illness was at a resort with just her parents.

Are you getting these points from chatGPT? At our daycare our child was held at every feeding and rocked at every nap. She slept at 6 months (when we sent her) in 2 hour blocks. There were video feeds. Why are you making up stories?
