Visiting someone with treated c diff

OP here - I looked this up. Human to animal c diff transmission is rare, but theoretically possible. Dog to dog transmission actually happens.

We told my in-laws that we are staying in a pet friendly hotel and bringing the dog up. My mother in law’s first request was to drop off the dog while we take the kids around the city. It is a lovely dog, but this made me laugh. I hope she doesn’t give the dog c diff…🙂

You should not share her bathroom if she has an active case of c-diff.

Cdiff is highly contagious and can be really rough. And with kids in the mix - no f-ing way. When I enter a patients room with Cdiff I gown up and wash my hands afterward. I just don’t want it.

^especially since it sounds like her condition is not well-controlled and comes and goes.

Speaking of improper use of antibiotics:

My niece had an ongoing mild sore throat, coughing, clogged sinuses. Dr. gave her amoxicillin. The next day she called to ask me how often furnace filter should be changed. Turned out it hadn't been changed in 2 years and replacing it immediately resolved her symptoms.

Then the diarrhea started. She works in restaurants and ended up using STD while she went through 3 rounds of c diff treatment.

Her husband and stepson were never affected, even though the diarrhea was so bad she had incontinent episodes.

Hell, no. Would rather stay with a family who all had covid.

The doctor thought horses not zebras. Ongoing symptoms like that suggest infection.
