+1 Coach has had a resurgence with the young girls in the last few years. |
| This is an impossible ask. No budget, no preferences...good luck! Don't buy coach, that's very much out. |
Yes, I think the Coach haters don't realize that. They are also well-made. |

| I’m shocked at what parents are willing to pay for a bag for a teen!! |
Have you looked at the money forum? Everyone makes $1 M a year. I'll agree that a nice bag can be carried through college and beyond, although I wouldn't spend Prada/LV money for a 13-yo because of the theft potential and snobby look factor in high school. However, for a 16 yo girl - they could be rushing a sorority in a couple years and then some parents would want to upgrade their bags to semi/full designer depending on the school, and a really cheap bag will be old news. So, choose with the future in mind! I like the Staud and Madewell choices noted above for a teen. |
I walk around with a zippered pouch from Target as a purse. But my parents bought me a nice purse when I was in college. I took it everywhere I have no problem paying, what? $200, $300? 400 for a purse for DD. Now, Chanel, etc. she can buy herself after working |

Why don't you ask?
I received bags as gifts and I didn't like them. They were just given to me. I carry a wrislet |
| I would find out a brand they like and give a gift card to the place. Or give the exact one they want when ask. A Bag, like jewelry, is so personal. (Someone recently guessed and got it wrong for me, for example; now I feel pressure to wear around them but not my style.) |
| This is the coach bag my grad student wants. https://www.coachoutlet.com/products/teri-shoulder-bag-in-signature-canvas/CV933.html |
