| OP here. Yes, thanks for asking. Treatment has been rescheduled. This practice seems to have a lot of internal communication issues. I was told today by another admin person that there was no way that I could have expedited anything insurance-wise, as I had been asked to do by a different admin person, because member services doesn't have access to the authorization process. I'm trying not to stew too much. |
I’m glad to hear you were rescheduled and it does sound like there are admin problems at that office. Hopefully the treatment will now proceed smoothly and effectively. It’s up to you if you want to mention this to the oncologist or not. It’s probably good for them to know about the admin miscommunications and problems, but it’s your choice if it’s worth your effort at this point. Best hopes for you. |
| OP, it may be worth seeing if your insurance plan includes getting assigned a case manager. These are for people with complex health issues. They can be a direct POC in the event anything else comes up and can help move things along. I have used a case manager twice - once for my own cancer treatment and once for one of my kids to navigate acute mental health care. |
