Universal basic healthcare would do a lot for making work more flexible and for the creation of part time jobs, including jobs for older people who can no longer do hard physical work.

Work in general should be spread out more, among more able bodied people. There’s nothing about 65 that means someone can’t work at all anymore. And if they truly can’t, chances are they are in bad shape and won’t be around a lot longer anyway so why not let them retire and have a couple of good years of rest?

My Dad retired at 57. Best thing he ever did! He travels and now lives overseas but he has a golden parachute. There will be no parachute for me except his inheritance. I intend to portion it out and work a part time job of my choice after I retire.
