No, not if the school is Princeton or MIT. Yes, if the school is Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. |
wasn’t me guy - but thx |
Klassi response that matches the response that you disclaim. Ya ain't fooli' no one. |
|
I know a few athletes that did it- per coach.
My son could have but I made him go on-time. There was no $ associated with doing so. |
| Your kid got Z-listed? I think a gap year is fine if that's what they want to choose. |
I’d say yes if Princeton or MIT and no if Harvard Yale or Stanford |
that’s interesting - why type of sporting would this work for? would have to be a winter or spring sport where senior year performance (which warranted ivy recruitment) occurred after the admission deadline.. |
| sport not sporting |
If it’s sports related, the kid is usually required to attend boarding school for a post grad year. Op is probably talking about something donor related like the z list. |
I know a lax player who exploded senior spring and shifted from Patriot League to an ivy but needed to take a gap year. Boarding school for post grad year was not required, kid just fiddled around, played much club lax, and took some CC classes |
Club lax ends the summer after junior year. |
Which is why most coachs require a pg year. |
| Yes if guaranteed. |
I've heard that Harvard does this for large donors -- will let them in but they have to take a gap year. |
This is real. My sibling attended HYPSM this way. |
