Hotel when visiting Stanford?

Anonymous
We love El Prado but only treat ourselves to it if we are there over the weekend (still pricey, but much cheaper than weekday rates...just the way it is out there). Have used AmEx Points at Westin and Sheraton. I am told there is a Stanford hotel no frills hotel on campus if you want to check that out. The lower priced hotels around town are non-options for us with bad real-deal dust mite allergies.....really not being high maintenance here, honestly cannot breathe in them due to old carpets, drapes, etc.....have a nice visit!

Westin or Sheraton. Marguerite shuttle stop is next door to Sheraton.

Stanford Park Hotel is a favorite. Nicer than Westin and almost as close. <5 min drive to downtown PA and campus. Also nobu--can walk to restaurants/shops.

Thanks. I think I'm leaning toward the Westin as I wont have a car. I looked at the Graduate but a review mentioned mustiness and the last time I stayed at a Graduate, that's what I remember.

The Stanford bus system (the Marguerite) is free and picks up at the Cal Train Station which is very close to the Westin, also drops off all over campus and around PA.

The Sheraton is also right there.

I hear there's plenty of room at the Hotel California. Such a lovely place.

El Prado. No question.

We stayed at the Hotel Parmani most times when visiting the kids. Cheap, but good. A lot of the more upscale hotels charge for parking in the general area. Usually less than a $100. Walkable if you can tolerate long walks 40+ minutes. But mostly we had a rental car because you need a car really.

We just googled the area when we visited for our Dd.
