| The most successful creative people I know when to Wes in the late 90s/early 2000s. |
what makes Wesleyan great? What corporate messaging are you referring to? |
|
Both pomona and wes aren't all that impressive when it comes to academic horsepower of their students
Pomona has 1766 undergrads 436 freshman 155 freshman submitted sat only 116 have sat above 1500 Wes has 3805 undergrads 824 freshman 335 freshman submitted an sat only 83 have above 1500 |
If you think an SAT score is the most relevant point of reference .... |
Why is Pomona being brought up at all? |
+1! |
| The Wes hate on this site is weird. For many of the reasons mentioned above, it is one of the very few LACs I could have imagined my DS attending (though he, in fact, does not). |
| I wouldn't want my kids going to a college teh size of their high school. Too small. |
| Wes draws more from the NYC and Boston crowd than from the DC area, which is probably why it's less popular here. Also it's perceived as hyper leftwing (somewhat outdated stereotype, but stereotypes take forever to fade), and there are a lot of conservative posters here. |
Oberlin yes, Wesleyan maybe? (was not the vibe we got on a tour this summer.) But Bates is not remotely woke. Which discredits the PP entirely. |
| I’m not a Wes hater, but I found the campus and surrounding area to be kind of drab and depressing. I wouldn’t rule it out on that basis as an adult, but as a teen who probably toured more bucolic campuses on the same road trip, I might put it lower on the list. |
I felt the same. Great school but there are other colleges nearby with more attractive campuses/towns. |
| I really like Wes when we toured. Thought it struck a nice balance for a LAC, not too woke, not too conservative. But I can also see how that makes it hard for the school to establish an identity. |
| Extremely liberal not even close to moderate. Not s great location and campus is below average. Loads of better options. |
