Philadelphia- historic sites, food at the indoor market, aquarium

Asheville, NC - hiking, ziplining, local food and drink

As a kid I loved going to Philadelphia as we saw the liberty bell. Do a food tour as well and they will love it. Cheesesteaks, egg creams ... plenty to love.

We drove to Orlando last spring break on a whim at the last minute and had a blast. We didn’t go to any parks. Rather, we enjoyed a cheap last minute rate at a Disney hotel and enjoyed the pool, the boardwalk, and hopping around the various Disney resorts for meals, seeing the animals, boats to Disney springs and Poly, etc.

There are plenty of non-Disney resorts with even cheaper rates.

The weather was gorgeous. My husband and kids golfed.

This. The JW has a fabulous pool there. You don’t need to leave.

I agree with Williamsburg. They have apartment style rentals there so you have a living room to stay in when kids go to sleep and you can bring bagels and fruit and save on eating breakfast out. We stayed at one that had an outdoor pool that was warm enough to swim in that spring, a mini golf onsite that was included with staying there, basketball hoop, playground. We did all the things. Then we did the colonial triangle (don’t miss Jamestown, it’s super interactive, my kids loved it). They loved the candy shop downtown; a pie place off the road. It was just good fun.

We did this for spring break once when our kids were younger and it was lovely.

I love Disney but to me, it's just too expensive now so that's why I'm not suggesting you drive to Orlando.

Nope Myrtle Beach is just gross and over priced crap.

Hilton Head at that time of year is not warm nor is the weather usually nice.

How did you get around in Savannah? Did you rent a car?

DCA to West Palm Beach Saturday to Thursday in March, $183 on Spirit and Frontier. United had Saturday to Saturday for $480. Stuart has a quiet little beach and houses with pools that rent for reasonable amounts. The temperature in that area is in the 70s in March. Cold for me to go in the water, but my kids were happy to do it.

You have clearly not traveled to either South Carolina or Florida in March.
