Not how things were supposed to work! But retaking the SAT, so it will work out.

This is my daughter almost exactly, only August SAT, October PSAT. Planning to retake SAT in December and if she doesn't get what she wants, wait until August to retake.

My daughter too (August SAT 1430, October PSAT 1450). Retaking SAT in December as well.

1560 Aug ‘25 SAT; 1500 Oct ‘25 PSAT. Perfect math scores on both, so interesting to compare verbal scores (which are about comparable albeit on a different scale).

Woof. I hope for their sake that cutoffs fall next year, or that you already live in one of the easier states. Tough to be so close to perfect and yet to miss NMSF.

1460 October SAT
1510 October PSAT

He said he ran out of time on the SAT, a very common problem for him with tests. I’ve been pushing him to read books outside of school with little luck. He felt vindicated to get a perfect verbal score on the PSAT.

1410 October PSAT
1360 October SAT

We are completely confused as to why he scored so differently, given that the PSAT is out of 1520 max.

We had a similar situation - August SAT 1320. October PSAT 1460 (11th grade). 10th grade PSAT was 1350, so even that was higher than the most recent SAT. Maybe just a bad day. She's not taking it again until March, but we are hoping it will be higher then.

NM doesn't matter. Kids scoring in that range get scholarships from other sources.
