| UGA is having its moment. If you’re lucky enough to get in, you take that offer. |
| My kid got into both UGA and UM during EA last year. We were told to expect UGA as an easier admit. They did offer pretty good scholarship money. |
They take what is available at your high school into account. My kid did not have AP/IB and got in early action out of state last year. |
This is reassuring - thank you. My DD's high school only offers AP Senior Year, so essentially she applied with none. |
Yup, I had told my kid based on all the naysayers to at least expect a deferral so we were thrilled when he got in EA. |
| I like the South and think that there are amazing schools in the region. But not one kid in my son’s class would pick UGA over Michigan. It’s a solid school but has nowhere near the prestige OOS. |
This is anecdotal nonsense |
Ridiculous. My kid loved Athens and hated Ann Arbor. Weather’s better and Georgia students were friendlier. Plenty of reasons to prefer UGA. |
No, anecdotal nonsense is posting UGA is very hard to get into for even in-state and as competitive as UMichigan. Then a poster in the same thread posts actual stats from UGA's own blog stating the in-state EA for Georgia residents this cycle is at a whopping 45% up from 42% last cycle. |
You mean UGA says yes to less than half of their in-state applicants? Dig deeper and look at the amount of AP required along with the required grades. UGA requires the SAT thus cannot be compared to ANY college that is TO. You obviously don’t get it or you have an axe to grind. Regardless, you’re not credible. |
