what to cook for special birthday dinner

I also love the marry me chicken idea - I’ve never made it but know it is so popular, plus I could make pasta to sop up the sauce which in my mind sets the dinner apart from the upcoming thanksgiving meal.

These are all great ideas, feel free to keep them coming!

If you want to stay away from mashed potatoes you could always serve roasted baby potatoes or roasted fingerling potatoes with the beef tenderloin. Beef tenderloin is great for a gathering of your size. You could also make a salad with field greens, pears, blue cheese, candied pecans.

A fun, maybe unexpected, condiment for beef tenderloin is mint or mint/cilantro chutney. There are plenty of recipes (and variations) online if you want to make it fresh. But jarred from a store can be very good too.

I'd do a beef tenderloin with Yorkshire pudding as the starch instead of potatoes

What's your husband's favorite vegetable?
