Yup, this moment will be remembered in history as the new Gilded Age. |
|
I think the board basically came up with some unattainable targets so Musk could say he was getting a trillion. Question will be whether they water them down later.
But even so it is obscene— especially for the guy who killed hundreds of thousands of kids by eliminating $30 billion of spending by USAID. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/the-new-yorker-documentary/the-shutdown-of-usaid-has-already-killed-hundreds-of-thousands |

If you don’t like it, don’t buy Tesla stock or cars. Otherwise it’s none of anyone else’s business.
Also, PP is right that this is basically a fake headline on a more normal pay package. Also, USAID was riddled with fraud and we should all be glad to see it end. |
Trump and Musk have defrauding US of more than USAID, and USAID will be back when the traitor in chief is gone. |
At this point everyone in America is dependent on the stock market for their retirement so when a board stacked with Musk’s friends gives him a ridiculous share of Tesla (which in turn gives him the money to have ridiculous influence on our elections and society) it is kind of our business. And there is more fraud in Tesla than there is in USAID— why you’d be glad to see kids dying of HIV is beyond me. |
How many kids do I have to treat for HIV for you to agree that I can commit as much fraud as I want? |
| He's like the archetype of a mad scientist at this point. |
There is no evidence of widespread fraud. When people say gov’t is inefficient it’s because the gov’t spends huge amounts of time and money focused on preventing fraud. And you know what, even if USAID spent $60 billion instead of $30 billion saving those lives it would still be money better spent having the National Guard pick up trash or trying to invade Nigeria. |
No one is buying MAGA Tesla EVs and they sure won't be buying any robots. |
I see new Teslas on the road every day. Where do you live? |
It's funny how a car can be politicized (and go from one extreme to another). It's really not a political decision to buy one. Test it against other cars and decide based on the car itself. Reward competence in the product. That's the American way of competition. |
Nothing a little creative accounting can’t fix |
The CEO of Tesla fired hundreds of thousands of working Americans, shutdown medical and food aid to Africa, and stole sensitive data. Not sure why you are surprised that it's "political" to avoid Tesla. Oh and they also auto-drive through roadsigns and kill pedestrians. |
I am picturing Peter Boyle singing puttting on the ritz. Anyway. Our Tesla got wrecked and we replaced it with a different brand. They aren’t taking my money to feed his ginormous ego. |
If you have 401k or equivalent, you cannot avoid owning Tesla stock. The stock is in every S&P 500, Growth Fund, Total Stock Market Index funds. Vanguard, State Street, and Blackrock are the largest shareholders. I can avoid owning the car, but not the stock. |
