Best Offer Wins - real estate book in DC

It’s definitely not horror. I wouldn’t even call it a thriller, but I can see why some label it that by the end. It’s a domestic drama, and very enjoyable, though of course it’s far fetched.

I read it. I enjoyed it a lot. 4/5 Goodreads score.

OMG. That was a stressful read. I have been in the character’s shoes before regarding the housing and the trying to start a family, but yeeeeeeeeeeeesh.

I read it on Kindle via DCPL. I think I heard about it in The NY Times book section - may have been elsewhere- not sure.

I don’t know the author, but it turns out I do know someone she thanked in the acknowledgments - of course, DC is a small world.

Finished this over the weekend. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for bumping this. I'll probably buy it at B&N. Support everyone, you know.

NP. Why would this get under your skin? You're actually discouraging someone who wants to from buying a book at Barnes & Noble?
I remember when the Borders in Bethesda closed 😭. That's not good either, libraries or no. Not the author, btw.

Yikes, this book is a wild but entertaining ride. It does capture the feeding frenzy of the DC real estate market, though I wonder if it is still that way these days.

3 or 3.5/5 for me. It was a fun and easy read. I liked the first few chapters a lot, but by the middle things were falling apart for me. It's like the book couldn't decide what it wanted to be.

I listened to it on Libby and really enjoyed it.

I just saw someone gave this 5 stars on reddit and was going to buy it. I’ll will read it first and then gift it to my realtor best friend 😁

I got it and am about halfway through. The protagonist makes really obvious mistakes. That bothers me. But I will see if those are intentional on the part of the author.

I just started reading it and was planning on giving it to my close friend who is a realtor afterward (if it’s worth reading). So far I’m really enjoying it and the voice of the narrator. Very dark, snarky, and a good critique of the liberal class in this area.

Ok. Finished it! Quite an unexpected last quarter. Nice twist.

I love snark but this was beyond that. It felt a little cringe-y.
