It's all so tiresome.

This is just so predictable: it’s the shutdown. If no one’s getting paid, of course the market responds by crashing.

You REALLY need to try to get out and see more of the world than just DC.

The Dow closed at 47,207 yesterday OP.

Calendar is well into earnings season, so that is dominating the headlines for the next few weeks. Shutdown is hardly mentioned on the business channels. It gets no play.

NOKIA?? Wtaf?

It’s amazing Nvidia and Nokia were reliable 90s brands, kind of boring — now the hot thing?

Can we get the rest of the 90s back?

If you calculate the s&p return since January WITHOUT the Magnificent 7 — you have 0% return.

The mag 7 PE ratio is about 36.

It’s all hype.

This market will crash. It's hyper-inflated, especially bc of the AI cocaine. But it's not happening today. I recall Greenspan noting the market was possessed by "irrational exuberance." And the market kept cooking for another year or two.

As Keynes said, "Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."

Dow is at an all time high today, OP. So much for your theory

No one cares about the shutdown.

You’re right “no one” is wrong. It should read ‘most people don’t care’ because obviously YOU care - just very few other people care, so nothing will happen

The big question is when a big dip comes, will people start pulling their money because they think it’s the start of a crash?

It’s almost a self fulfilling prophecy.

There won’t be a dip. The AI traders are setup to prop up prices until Project Stargate checks are cut and rolling in.
