Don't be an ass. Freezer ice that is made by the machine, not ice that is poured into trays

not being an ass. The post made no sense. All ICE is freezer ice. Where else are the trays stored TO MAKE ICE? Does the oven make it? Maybe the microwave? Instant Pot?
She went ice created in your freezer versus ice bought pre-made and store bought in a bag.

You must change the filter, dump out all of the old ice, generate 1-2 bins of new ice and discard those as well. By the third bin, it should be good.

Np. You’re totally an ass. Lots of people have countertop nugget ice makers. We have one in our basement for guests

This.
Also plastic lines will leech out toxins and change flavor as the plastic offgasses and ages.
Use copper lines for water. Newer appliances also suck due to all the environmental restrictions and cost saving measures, which degrades their quality and lifespan to a few years now instead of decades.

If you want decent ice, DO NOT use an icemaker, but use metal trays instead.
