Try the Belkowitz Law Firm - they have both advocates and attorneys and work in the FCPS space.

OP here. I want to thank everyone for their recommendations. We had the MDR yesterday and while I didn't feel especially prepared, the staff at the school complimented us for being so well prepared with handouts (Letter from medical provider with new diagnosis, chart detailing recent med changes and when, full statement of event that the school "summarized" and didn't entirely capture).

I was actually able to speak with two lawyers for about a 1/2 hour each, and while they didn't provide identical information, each covered different parts that I needed to know, and nothing they said was contradictory (which was amazing to me but really comforting). Also, if anyone else is in this situation, I suggest reaching out to the procedural support liaison for your pyramid. Ours was fantastic and explained what was and was not going to be discussed or taken into consideration in this first meeting vs the hearing next week.

Lawyers were Grace Kim and Alene Sprano. Neither do free consultations, but it was worth every penny.
Also worth noting that they get very busy and it can be similar to getting an appt at a medical specialist.... so call earlier rather than later if you want to talk with them.
