Then they aren't paying attention. AI powered robotics will come for the trades as well.

Only after they’ve already replaced surgeons, medical workers, all engineers and tech professionals, and anyone still left in the legal field with the possible exception of actual courtroom litigators.

AI is going to absolutely massacre white collar jobs.

Yes! That’s what we need! More uneducated people who are only capable of doing menial tasks, which are of the type that will be replaced by automation first! Great idea!

Truly, do you not see how you're being racist?

Where did I mention ANYTHING about race?

I think YOU are the actual racist here, since you *assumed* that those unskilled people were black or brown.

My point is that it won't just be white collar jobs. The idea that this somehow doesn't matter because it will only hurt white collar workers is shortsighted. It will affect us all, and we should have solidarity with everyone who works for a paycheck.

No, I'm not. You know what very well what you did. Your post is riddled with racist and xenophobic dog whistles. You didn't have to mention race for your racist intentions to be clear.

They should be. AI Robots are coming to take those jobs as well.
It would take a couple of years, but it's coming.

I will live off what I have saved, develop a small homebase business, and rely on family and friends. I’m ready to be flexible and adaptable. It may come to pass. It may not. we all have to just do the best we can. No one is coming to save us.

A good first step would be to resolve to spend less time on the site. I’ve been doing that and I feel a lot better.

Really? Think decades, not years. I have a relative working with cutting edge robotics. Handshakes are a challenge for robots. Fine motor skills will be an enormous challenge.

That's why the Republican party is a death cult right now. The more people who die the fewer have to be on unemployment.

AI will be able to solve those problems in years, not decades.

Sure but how will be controlling the AI and why would those people help out you?

This is silliness, truly.

I live in a state where one of the most advanced robotics companies resides doing their cutting edge work - those robots are nowhere near being able to do surgery, teach (manage) human children, or litigate in any way, shape or form. Never mind all the other jobs you've listed. It's silly, silly, beyond silly to be thinking that AI is coming for these jobs.

Some of the white collar professions will use AI to streamline some of the busywork and maybe put out of work medical coders and paralegals, but no way no how in my lifetime (I'm only 55) will the list of jobs in this thread be filled by robots/AI.

Don't encourage your kids to study computer science, that's a field that is quickly being taken over by AI tech.

So now someone can get my order correct and I don't have to talk to them , great. And they can offer refunds because no overhead.
