I agree there is a lot of funny stuff, but I’m also bored by the let’s talk about sex in excruciating detail from female comedians. I think Amy Schumer started it and people are like “oh my!” And it got a lot of traction. But then it was like every female needed to spend 20 minutes on blow job jokes. It’s just not that funny.
Ali Wong was hysterical in her first special, second a little less so and by the third I was just forwarding past all the sex stuff. Same with Whitney Cummings — she was funny and then just got so tired and jumped the shark with the sex stuff. I know it’s titillating to hear a sexy woman talking about sex very explicitly but ladies, please, we can be more than that! This is dated by the Michelle Wolf Nice Lady special was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen and there are a couple jokes that were so insightful I think about them often. |
God don't even get me started on female comedians these days. They're all horrible. Talking about graphic sex and their sex lives doesn't make a good comedian. It's just classless and tacky. |
| There’s a female comic who is disabled who was on Kill Tony that I thought was very funny. One joke I liked was how a guy said he was going to F her til she couldn’t walk. Her response: something like, that’s a low bar. I’d like the opposite. (She’s in a wheelchair.) |
| More love for Josh Johnson! |

I don't like Nate Bargatze - his entire schtick seems to be "I'm a bumbling idiot." There's one clip I saw where he talks about his daughter's school calling him about something and his attitude was "why would I know? call her mother!"
Dude, that's not funny, it's sad. |
The men are bumbling, lazy, useless idiots is a trope that actually gets a lot of views and traction. It gets used in TV shows, on here (those posts get a lot of responses), in skits etc. It is a popular trope. It is like the dumb blonde trope. |

I think Chelsea Handler and KathyGriffin are funny.
Matt Rife, Fred Armisen, Louie Anderson rip, Mulhaney and Chappell |
I agree I had conflicted feelings about that joke, but it was still funny. The special he did during the pandemic, outside, was one of the funniest I had seen in a long time, and I ended up watching it again with my kids. He had a bit about math that was truly very funny. I agree the "I'm an idiot" shtick gets old, but it's also a respected long-standing genre of comedy and is better than the "I'm an AH" shtick. One of his newer bits, about hotel bathrooms, makes me laugh everytime I am in a hotel bathroom. |
The dumb guy trope has made networks billions of dollars in sitcom ad revenue - particularly CBS. |
| Gabriel Iglesias. |

| I have always hated that type of shock humor. It is also, often, misogynistic. |
Chelsea Handler was a decade before Amy Schumer but both are the same vulgar Jewish promiscuous female vagina “humor” style. Handler literally slept her way to her E! show. |
See also Sarah Silverman and Rosanne. This strain of “comedy” has been around for 40 years. |
| Sheng Wang has a great special on Netflix. He’s so chill and genuinely funny. Clever too. |
