For A cups and smaller: anyone wear training bras meant for tweens/teens?

She gets the sporty, unadorned bras in her size, I get the lacey bras in my size. Their smaller proportions have made all the difference in how bras fit me. I survived for decades on the smallest standard size, so I'm borderline in terms of torso size, but DD has a smaller frame than mine (shoulder to shoulder, torso length, etc, not just band and cup size), and for her, this store is a life-saver. She also wears the brand Pepper, which I don't like as much, but you might like too.

OP here. I have bras from both places already. I agree with you -- I don't like the Pepper bras but the ones from TLBC are good. But I'm not talking about more structured bras, which I do wear sometimes. I'm talking about bralettes for when I don't want to wear a real bra. When I'm just running errands on the weekend, when I'm walking the dog, for travel when I want something really not constricting. I've really struggled to find ones I like. The ones for adults often have padding or I don't like the material. Or I'll find one I like but it's $45 which I think is too much for a bralette. But these are really cute and super affordable.

PP you replied to. I see. Sorry, I would never not wear a real bra - they don't bother me at all, and I prefer the way my figure looks with a real bra

It doesn't seem like you understand what OP is looking for.

I do now she's explained it! But in the original post, when she said she did want a bit of structure, I wasn't sure exactly. And I am allowed to express my own preferences in a public discussion, PP.

Yes, freedom of speech, but what are we supposed to do with the information you provided? You were not OP clarifying her preferences, of so, your comment would have been germane. Otherwise it is random.

I don't always like to wear underwire. I only wear it when I'm wearing work or formal clothes that really require it.

OK. For those of us with small chests, it's not like any of this is a physical strain. I wear underwire every day and I don't feel it at all. As PP said, a proper bra looks better under clothes, and since I love clothes and always dress nicely (not formal, but cute or flirty or pretty)... I'm not going to pick a kid's bralette. But you do you. That's the beauty of being an adult. You make your own choices!

Of course, people like different things. I do wear more structured bras to work or if I'm dressing up, but I generally don't find them comfortable. I think I'm just particularly sensitive to anything hard or constricting near my body. I've been professionally fitted for bras and while those always do fit better, after about 5 hours I am totally DONE. It's like my work pants and blouses -- they are attractive and comfortable enough, but it's not what I choose to wear on WFH days or the weekend. In my leisure time I like to wear wireless bralettes that just offer some coverage and a little bit of shaping under a t-shirt. With small boobs I find I don't need much more than that.

It’s as if the industry can only make bras that are uncomfortable, constructing, non-breathable, oh and also their breasts are not ok the way they are, they need to look bigger, rounder, smoother, more uplifted. SMH. I’ve had some luck with bralettes from gap body and Patagonia, and some of the lace bralettes from Victoria’s Secret.

Not really. Maybe you are searching under the wrong size. There isn't a uncomfortable bra crisis in the U.S., there are innumerable styles out there, something for everyone.

Gap Body had a really great wireless bralette a few years ago but they haven't made the same style since. I bought three of them and now I wish I'd bought more. I like them because they are a racerback style which I find really useful for tanks in the summer, and I think offers a bit better shape in a bralette. They have a similar style now but not racerback and I just don't find it as flattering.

Ok, what would you like us to do for you, in addition to our discussing OP's thoughts?

I think some people are just more bothered by bras than others. I know women who find their bras very comfortable, or even are more comfortable wearing a bra than not. I just have never been like that. I view bras as a necessary evil and I seek to find the most comfortable one I can. But if it was socially acceptable to just go bra free, I'd do that always. It's vastly more comfortable to me. But it just doesn't look professional or appropriate on an adult woman so I wear bras.

OP here and I think this thread is just not for you. This is not a thread about forcing every woman to wear shaping bras with underwire and molded cups.

No one said that. But just because one non OP hates underwires, and has announced this, doesn't mean we can't recommend them.

Also, threads are "for" anyone.

So? This is what a discussion is for. We are not actually here to only answer OP. Why did you assume that? When you create a thread, you do not have control over it and neither does anyone else. We are all free to chime in whatever we want, unless it's a slur or swear or it libels someone - Jeff doesn't like those things.

Are you new here? This has been the case ever since the inception of DCUM.

What do you want me to say?

OP, not a bralette, but I find the tanks with built in bra sold at Uniqlo extremely comfortable and not a "traditional bra". I have one in every color but sometimes just wear them under a tshirt or hoodie.

Have you thought about getting small breast implants? I got mine done at 41 post kids and love it. You can wear any kind of bra.

Tell me more. Does it feel weird and heavy (kind of like when nursing) or are they not that noticeable? How small are small implants? Like from almost A to a B?

DP. OMG, lady. Why are you arguing with anyone who says that bras are uncomfortable? Do you work for the Bra Lobby? This clearly isn’t the thread for you, with your insistence that only you are correct and the rest of us who find brad uncomfortable are wrong.

To the other PPs - my daughter has gotten me hooked on those adhesive nipple petals. As soon as I get home, the bra comes off and the petals go on. I have very small boobs so I wear these out with sundresses, etc.
