Between the microwave and single burner, it was fine for a few months. A toaster oven is handy as well, if you want to keep something warm while preparing a second item.

When we did renos we simply rented a house. Problem solved.

Cooking wasn't an issue when our kitchen was out of service,. It was washing the dishes that was a headache. But of course, you can use disposable ware.

You can move the microwave to the dining room.

We got a portable induction cooktop and still use it for fast boiling water. It's amazing.

We borrowed an induction burner for our kitchen reno and honestly I think we used it twice in six weeks. It was summer, so we grilled a lot and used the toaster oven. The kids made do with Trader Joe's mac & cheese in the microwave rather than the stovetop kind

We used the grill the most, the single induction second, then toaster oven and microwave. It didn’t last too long fortunately and is now a distant memory. Good luck!

PS Our installed induction cooktop is much faster and a little quieter than the single burner - for anyone using one to try out induction.

We did our Reno during the summer so on our screened porch we had our microwave, toaster oven and an induction burner borrowed from my mom. We grilled a lot! We have a mudroom and utility sink so that is where we washed dishes.

Before you buy an induction burner, make sure that your cookware will work with it. Not all will.

better buy real thin metal pots. some pots dont work on induction (magnet test bottom), and even if they do, might take 30 minutes to boil water if too heavy. Plus, ours tripped breaker a few times. was good times
