This is going to totally kill Ilea though, right?

One could hope. Always cheap Ikea type furniture in nice houses these days. It's awful looking and ruins a nice Victorian Era house to put that particle board cardboard junk in them.

A lot of cabinetry is made in the US and you can get some great cabinetry (and modern furniture too) from the Amish right up the road.

This. 100% this.
Boycot the imported junk.

I think this is a play on Turkey to strong arm them into not buying Russian oil. A ton of the mid to low end furniture sold in the US comes from Turkey or parts come from Turkey.

Sounds like you haven’t been to IKEA for a while. They don’t use particle board.

Our furniture, silverware, and steel pots and pans also are made in US. No tariff impacts on US manufacturers and US-made products.

Our crystal was made in EU, but we don't need more. Our lead-free china also was made in EU, but we do not need more. (Frustrated that we were unable to find any high-end lead-free made-in-US china.)

You're kidding yourself if you think there are no tariff impacts on US-made products with US-made materials. The price/availability of US plywoods (example) are affected by the price/availability of Chinese plywoods. Same goes for hardware. Not to mention American labor prices, insurances, rents, etc that have had to increase to keep pace with COL and market increases.

The tariffs are funding trump’s big stupid deal by imposing a regressive tax on all of us. The government has already raked in over $100 billion dollars, disproportionately from the lower income citizens and undocumented. It’s a great way to make poor Americans even poorer.

Again what is this specifically funding? No one seems to know.

Yeah it's even worse now, pressed cardboard with resin and a veneer.
Nobody but shoddy scammers are buying foreign made cabinets.

I already decided to put off my remodels due to the sheer number of MAGA contractors, and this just confirms I made the right move. We’ll see where everybody’s at after 3 more years of economic misery.

Tile was already tariffed in general, but prices will go up from India. In general, everything will cost more because shipping costs have gone up due to tariffs, supply chain disruption, etc. Trump’s new tariff on heavy trucks will make it worse.

We arent gaining anything. Argentina- it just got 20 billion and then turned around and sold their soy to China which means the US farmer soy has nowhere to go. The only people making money are billionaires. Trump and Witkoff included. Oh wait AND Kushner. And whoever else pays fealty to the King.
