| We went to Ponte Vedra beach the last 2 spring breaks, just outside of Jacksonville. We don't swim so much but great for kites, volleyball, sand activities. We get bikes and it's so bike friendly! Also there is a lot of golfing and great places to eat. Really nice vibe. |
| PP also you can get really cheap air tickets to JAC from IAD if you book in advance |

Ft. Lauderdale to Ft Myers and south on both coasts is your best bet. It also depends when you go. Third week of March is dicier than beginning/middle of April obviously. We go to Florida nearly every spring break and the only year it was very cold was in late March in St. Augustine which is too far north (but we were naive then.) It can also be cold in Sedona/GCNP and I speak from experience on that one. I would do that in April not March. |
| We rented a house in Crystal River, Florida right on the water. The house came with kayaks so we spent the whole week kayaking around to spot manatees. There was one mom and baby who hung out right off the dock in front of our house, so we'd sit down there and drink our morning coffee and watch them much. We brought snorkel gear so we could snorkel with the manatees near the springs too and it was pretty awesome. We also spent a bunch of time on some really great bike trails, a day tubing down Rainbow River, plus a day at the beach. In the evenings we did some family board game nights and a movie night. It was pretty much the opposite of theme park, Florida. |
| Again with Palm Springs, CA + Joshua Tree NP. Perfect weather in March and the cholla cactus bloom is lovely. |
We did Zion & Bryce on March spring break and there was snow on the ground at Bryce, trails were closed. Zion was great though. |

This might make me go back to FL. This isn’t a political comment as I’ve lived in some nutty places, mainly overseas, but more of a couldn’t find an appealing angle comment. |
NP. I've been on this board for over 2 decades, and life brought me to live about 30 minutes from here! It really is pretty, and has a cute historical downtown also. It's also close enough to Tampa/St.Pete that you could drive down for a day if you wanted to do something there (Zoo Tampa, The Dali, Busch Gardens, ect). |
| Denver - it might be cold/snowy one day but won’t be all week. Plenty to do without skiing. |
Rainbow River is beautiful. If you’re in this area, consider visiting Homosassa Springs and Rainbow Springs State Park, too. |
| One spring break, we did a road trip to Niagara Falls-Buffalo—Toronto—Pittsburgh. Was not warm, but was inexpensive & uncrowded. |
| We were in Miami and Key West this spring break. Both were warm enough for swimming. |
| We also went to the Keys this year. We got a car and saw Everglades and Biscayne and then set up shop in Marathon. Kayaked in mangroves, did a day trip to Key West, went to the turtle hospital, went to several beaches. It was fun and relaxing. |
