Why not just look at the form https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f709.pdf and instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i709.pdf yourself and make your own decision.

And if OP is over the estate limit, paying $1000 to file a tax form is a rounding error anyway.
