Which MAP-M scores are pulled for SMCS program admissions?

The bizarre thing is that if your kid is applying as home schooled or from a private, they accept a large array of tests for consideration, including COGAT. But MCPS doesn't consider COGAT for its own students.

A list of accepted assessments: NWEA MAP, i-Ready, Performance Series, Scantron, Iowa Assessments, CTP, MCAP/PARCC or other state testing, WISC, Woodcock-Johnson, SSAT,
CogAT, OLSAT or InView.

MCPS students don't have COGAT scores. They have MAP scores. Not bizarre.

Yes they do. My kids were both tested last year and the results are in ParentVue as part of the G&T designation. I think there were some gaps in testing in the COVID years, but kids are supposed to be tested.

Yeah but they're not going to put kids in high school programs based on their 2nd or 3rd grade CogAT scores...

No one is stopping MCPS from COGAT testing 7th graders. It’s actually a measure of being gifted and talented unlike MAP.
