best gifts for first birthday?

Anonymous
I had a friend who gave every child whose 1st birthday party she was invited to one of those loud obnoxious ball popper toys that every parent hates but the children LOVE. Both of my kids loved the heck out of that thing, it brought them so much joy! But annoyed the heck out of me. If you want something for the kid, buy the ball popper. If you want something for the mom and dad, buy the stupid foam "couch" or aesthetically appropriate wooden puzzle.

+1. Forgot about the ball popper. Big hit with the toddlers.

Love the ball popper! You can get a bubble mower or toy vacuum. The thrift stores always have poppers

My kids especially like something they can put their toys and stuffies in and push around the house.

Yes- I don't know why, but kids love loading all their cr*p into a pram or stroller and pushing it around the house! The bonus is that the buggy becomes an extra storage bin haha.

This pull along toy gave my kid so much joy for many years. She dragged Pepe around everywhere.
