Drivers making turns

Anonymous
This is a thing and has always been a thing. People don’t learn the rule that you turn into the left lane when making a left turn and the right lane when making a right turn. Then you change lanes if you need to. They turn into wrong lane because they think their need to get someplace is more important than traffic safety. Poor drivers.

I’m 52 and people have been doing this the whole time I’ve been driving.

I’m also 52 and it has gotten way way worse over the last few decades. I think part of it is that so many people are used to driving SUVs and feel like they need two lanes to make the left turn. It’s particularly dangerous when there are two lanes turning left. I find it really really aggravating.

I think you’re being too harsh on these drivers. The lane line usually doesn’t persist when you’re turning, so your lane assist doesn’t work. Plus, most people are right handed and they text with it. Hard to make proper left turn under these excessive conditions. Ease up.

Because they're stupid, bad drivers. They're the same people that stop half a car's length (or more) before the 'stop line' at a light.
