DP. This thread is about one person, not multiple people. There were other holdovers from McKnight's team who also had to reapply for their jobs under Taylor. Some were reappointed, some were not. |

I am neither Black nor White. I just want competent people running MCPS. |
Expecting competence and kindness from leaders has nothing to do with race. Edwards was neither, speaking from experience. She could have been purple and would have still been a poor leader. ![]() |
People can say what they want about her kindness and her being friends with McKnight, but it is a lie to say that she was incompetent. In every position she had, she was a hard worker and got the work done well. |
Not sure the county council or inspector general would agree with that last part. https://bethesdamagazine.com/2024/09/30/mcps-gets-failing-grade-for-electric-bus-implementation/ |
Yeah, no, I want every single crappy staffer at Central Office out no matter their race or gender, and I will celebrate equally if/when they go. |

Uh, huh…whatever… [url] https://moderatelymoco.com/return-amidst-controversy-navigating-the-reinstatement-of-dana-edwards-to-mcps-chief-of-districtwide-services-and-support/ |
At every MCPS school I’ve worked at I have had colleagues that share your perspective. It is something to navigate. |
This. Moran is equally incompetent and dishonest as Edwards. But he’s a white man and she’s a black woman. Sounds like white supremacy culture. |
Moran has not been embroiled in shady dealings like Edwards. He has never been placed on administrative leave. Where is your evidence of any incompetence or dishonesty on his part? Or are you just the perpetual Moran-hater always dragging him on DCUM? |
Oh please. Taylor had the each of the existing chiefs reapply for their revised jobs in his new org chart. Some candidates were hired, and some were not. Only three of the eleven new chiefs are white. |
Thank you. Enough with the race wars. |
I was supposed to be on a workgroup that Dana Edwards was supposed to manage. She repeatedly set up meetings that administrators couldn't make and had no clue what the work group was about. When another central office person (who was acting for a while and then got a better offer from HCPSS, I think) took over things were smoother... not completely smooth, but better. She also had a reputation as a bully principal at Northwest, I think?
That being said, I hope everyone realizes how toxic Jack Smith was to the school system and provided the base for all of McKnight's mishaps. She certainly continued it, but she didn't start it. |
