Help this New Yorker get reconnected with NYC

I lived in NYC in the 80s as a kid. When I go back I see friends, visit the Met, walk in the park, go to the Guggenheim, eat at one of the small Italian restaurants uptown, go for pancakes downtown maybe see what's on at the Smithsonian in the financial district.
