I've been on Zepbound since mid January - 50lbs down as of this morning

I lose about 1-1.5 pounds a week. I've had few side effects and they have been minor - I get super tired the night I take my shot, and the most frequent is I just don't want to eat. No nausea, constipation, etc.

I did 2.5 for 1 month, 5 for 2 months, 7.5 for 2 months, and I'm about to finish my 4th month on 10 (and I plan to stay on this dose for at least another month)

Curious what it is about these drugs that causes nausea? I’m not on it but following the trend…

They slow down digestion, basically causing some level of gastroparesis. That's part of why they're effective for weight loss, but also why many feel sick.

Op the appetite and food noise suppression kicked in for me the second week. Give it some time! I take shot 17 tomorrow and this drug has changed my life.

It sounds like your weight loss per week was very reasonable. I’m considering Zepbound, but I am concerned about loose skin. I have 50-60 pounds to lose. Can you share your start weight, age and how your skin is responding to weight loss?

TBH, losing 50 lbs will be better for my health than having loose skin, so I don’t know why I’m worrying about that.

Not the PP but I can share my experience.

I have lost about 75 lbs in a year. Currently on 7.5 ( since March)

No loose skin as of yet, but I really upped my workouts - peloton and weights. The initial weight loss gave me the energy to work out almost daily as opposed to just being exhausted at the end of the day.

Side Effects - Itchy injection site (sometimes) and constipation for the first few days after the shot. Zero other issues.

So is most of the weight loss attributed to the meds or to feeling too nauseous to eat for much of the day and sometimes puking up the bad (fried, sugary) foods (no calories absorbed)?

Honest question.

I've lost 30 lb on it since February! Game-changer. I'm on 5mg now to maintain a healthy weight. It suppresses appetite and helps you use calories more effectively.

For me, yes, the nausea and vomiting have been a major factor in weight loss.

I’ve been on Mounjaro (same thing as Zepbound) for 2 months and have lost 23 pounds. I’m still on 2.5, the lowest dose. I have never felt nauseous. I just don’t have a craving to eat like I did before, and I certainly can’t tolerate fried and sugary food. As people have said, the medicine just makes “food noise” go away. No drama or trauma for me.
