Girls only recruited from teams that win National Events.

You speak the truth. Almost the entire team of VDA players have committed to a substantive D1 University to play soccer. No GA players on the list. Do GA clubs like SYC, TSJ or VRSC even have a program to get their players recruited??? Maybe it's not a priority for them.

Top players from FCV, Loudoun, Union, Brave and even Richmond migrated to VDA over the past year, which is why they have so many more commits than every other NOVA club…but you, and everyone else, already knows this.

Bethesda seems to be doing well THIS year…FVU, Arlington, MDU and Pipeline only have a few or less each.

If those players from VDA moved to a GA club, they still would have committed. It’s the players that matter, not the club or the teams.

For the types of schools that my player is looking at, it looks like 1/3 GA, 2/3 ECNL roughly in their freshman classes.

All the one’s that have committed from Bethesda play on the 08 team. So there’s that.

Clubs do less than you think. It’s almost all on the players. Those other clubs can’t do much with their current player pool.

Let’s do a little thought experiment... If VDA 2009s swapped all their players with VRSC 2009s a year or two ago, how would the commits look right now? Do you think VDA would still have all the D1 commits and VRSC wouldn’t? Truth is those players would still be committing to the same types of schools no matter which club they play for.

VDA stockpiled all the current recruiting age players over the last couple years when other clubs imploded. That will subside in the next couple years as players will be more distributed again.

If not, well no offers so far. Players on the lower end of spectrum on a winning team are beating players at the higher end of talent spectrum on losing teams. There are a couple of exceptions, but generally it’s what’s happening.

The two dirty secrets. The first is 99% of colleges do not care about how many wins their soccer team has. This is reflected in recruiting and operating budgets. Second anyone in ECNL or GA can play college soccer if they have the desire. There are so many programs that need bodies and NCAA soccer is a straight continuation of travel soccer. I have seen girls go to lesser known schools to play college soccer over a well known school. If you only care about playing in college and not the school it is very likely you will play in college.

44,046 women play college soccer across NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA levels. They estimate 23k freshman women play soccer(or on a team roster). As you can see there is a large drop rate after the first year.

How many of the current VDA 09 players were on VDA at U13?

NCAA division one has a roster cap. So there aren’t that many programs that need bodies. I don’t think kids play ECNL or GA to just play anywhere. Can you elaborate more on college soccer being a continuation of travel soccer?

You parents are so easy to beat.

Keep chasing winning teams instead of developing a skilled player.

It is called lazy and dependent.

Another dumb comment. Check GA website to see the commits. Also not everyone goes and brag about it in insta. You seem to spend all your valuable time on instagram. Get enlightened a little bit. Common.
