Is the SAT easier this year? how does it compare to the ACT?

Tho math portion on ACT says it covers pre calc and SAT covers up to Algebra 2, or something.

It amazes me that people still do not know that the SAT was "recentered" in 1995. Basically, 20 points were added to (most) math scores and 70 points to verbal scores (except those above 730 obviously maxed out at 800.

In addition, significant changes to the test were made in 1994, 2005, and 2016. The effect of most of these changes was to make the SAT slightly easier; the 2016 changes also increased scores. Finally, more changes were made when the digital version was rolled out in 2024, including the use of shorter passages and a reduction in length from 3 to 2 hours. This doesn't seem to have increased average scores, but the test requires a lot less stamina and concentration.

Basically, if you took the SAT in the 1980s or 1990s, you took a completely different test from the one your kids are taking.
