MLS Next playing time recommendations

Yet, the MLS Next technical standards recommend that all primary players start in 25% of official matches and that all players participate in 50% of minutes per week (U13 through U15). Is there any enforcement or monitoring of these recommendations? I understand that a team might deviate slightly from these, but in the case of our club, these recommendations were completely ignored. In the era of Taka and AI, it seems that it would be easy to evaluate whether teams are following these recommendations a couple times during the season and penalize the teams who are not complying.

We have a biobanding player who plays full-time and caused us games. The bench player then switched to a top ECNL team that has a much higher ranking.

There's bitter and then there's this

Guessing your kid is the benched player in this tale
The benched kid wasn't a better option or the coach would have used him

That’s not always true. We left a team at Liverpool because a younger player played up and was given all my child’s playing time. There were several younger kids playing up, and the coach had previously been able to manage the playing time well, but this player was another coaches son and it became a problem. We tried to address but had to leave instead. Now DC plays a ton in a higher EDP bracket than they previously did, places better in tournaments, and development has grown exponentially.
Not all kids right the bench because the other kids are better. Sometimes there’s blatant favoritism, and it is an ugly thing to see. These kids are U12 and deserve better development than paying service to one player.
Parents don’t doubt your instinct. If this is happening on your team LEAVE. There are greener pastures out there and coaches who know how to do it right!!!

It’s MLSNext. Not MLSN. We’re not grandpa league ECNL.

Hey, it’s that same loser from MLSN marketing.

ECNL grandpa entered the building.

How much is MLSN paying their interns these days? Still unpaid?

The coach was already fired, but who cares. It is a B team anyway, since most players in that team were from the RL team originally.

Coaches should be fired over this. It destroys the kid’s confidence.
