I take an ssri for depression, so I'm not depressed. Do you think I can get the COVID shot?

Ah ok. I just know it would not look like I'm depressed if they were to administer the questionnaire

They can look in your medical records and find history of depression.
IDK how they plan to screen for these restrictions but when the shots first came out and were limited, people just had to check off on a questionnaire if they had one of the qualifying conditions.
However I think I saw somewhere that a pharmacy was requiring a prescription for the vaccine (so your doctor would have to approve).

On the CVS website, you just click “yes” or “no” when asked if high-risk. There was nothing about needing a doctor’s note.

The vaccine is now only approved for people with certain preexisting conditions. Thanks, RFK Jr.

- only with written prescription AND proof of pre-existing condition

By adding that requirement, it discourages people from vaccinating themselves and their children.

You may be in one of the states that is allowing it - DC, PA, 14 others you have to have doctor scrip and proof.
My question- what if you pay out of pocket? It’s $150-$200? Can you get it then?

Yes, thank you for bringing us into the western standards of only giving this shot to vulnerable people, not everyone.

Finally some common sense. And OP, your depression may be treated but your hypochondria could use some fine tuning.

May you die from COVID. I really do wish that for you.

Are other western countries banning health care professionals who work with high risk populations from getting the vaccine? I’m gojng to need to see a cite for that.
I’m also pretty positive that the EU has authorized the vaccine for healthy kids and teens. So I do not think that we are in step with what the EU is doing.

This is barbaric but isn't it just a call to doctor and they send it to you?

In many European states, you can buy it privately if it is not provided by the national insurance scheme. And don't forget - Europe has sick leave and health insurance for all.
And also, I thought they were all about choice instead of mandates. They are mandating - just in a different direction. Why would it harm you if your healthy neighbor decides to get a covid vaccine?

Exactly. And I really want to see what kind of brain worm, pseudo science was used to come up with this.

Written prescription is not a CDC requirement. It's something CVS and Walgreens have added onto the process. There is at least one independent pharmacy in this area vaccinating based on self-attestation.

Let's remember the pharmacies that bent the knee in advance. Walgreens is acquired by private equity btw.

Yes you qualify.

If you wanna get a shot, get a shot. Anybody should get a shot if they want to. This regime that we have in place is crazy and insane and has horrible judgment. You know how in the military you were taught that it’s OK to disobey an immoral order? It’s a similar situation here. In 2021 we are all rightly concerned with not jumping the line because there was a better regime in place that was trying to fairly give out the doses. Now we have crazy people in charge and people should just do anything they need to do to get a vaccine if they want one.
