Is AT a better environment for ADHD overall?

Yes. Probably better than both HB and IB@W-L. HB is best for students with a high level self-motivation, due to less supervision. AT has more hands-on learning.

HB is actually full of thriving ADHD students since the smaller community doesn’t allow them to drift off too far. And teachers are the counselors so they know their students far better.

There are probably some ADHD students in the rigorous IB program. It would be nice to know what coaching or other supports have helped those students navigate the workload.

Would love to hear about their experience and supports; many families hire private tutors and coaches, but we aren’t sure that would work for our child’s issue.

I've also heard AP classes are stronger for science/math. Sounds like you have a kid who is good at math.

Don't make the decision based on following her friends.

Yeah, that’s why we are thinking of AT — can you transfer in as sophomore??

Yes. We know kids who went both ways— a couple who left AT after 9th to return to base school and at least one who started at AT in 10th.
