My commute had been about 25 minutes each way. The commute turned it into an hour and was going to continue for another two years.
I switched to a different beltway bandit with a 10 minute commute. Sweet!
Within a year we were bought by private equity and I was out of a job. By that time the old place was not hiring. Sad trombone.

Are you daft? nothing about the previous post indicated dual or single income, and the move was sad for the poster so I doubt it was a "luxury." More like a mistake.
