This is why our PTA has a Whatsapp group where white parents will volunteer to walk to school the children of anyone who is concerned about being racially targeted. We don't want kids to miss school because their parents are afraid to take them.

They have been in all of the Hispanic neighborhoods every single day by 7am since this all started. They are in unmarked cars, and they profile people and pull them over and arrest them. This will absolutely continue to happen on Monday. If vulnerable families are taking their kids to school in cars, then they are very likely to get caught up in the detentions.

It is bad, I am at a school that has many Hispanic students and many have dropped out of school. It’s so sad and as a teacher I am unsure what I could realistically do.

ICE is all over Columbia Heights right now. The ICE Block app is a sea of red, including near schools.

Pretty messed up if they are explicitly camping out near bilingual schools.

They’re in all of the Latino neighborhoods as they have been daily. I heard one report of a father being detained commuting to or from school, but didn’t see video to confirm it.

DC graduated from DCI last year. Due to all the Spanish speaking bilingual feeder schools, DCI has a disproportionate Hispanic student body. I wonder if the older students just chose to not return.
