They must be doing something right if so many return customers are willing to pay that price. The market always speaks the truth. |
| They are no longer promoting players based on skill. Only on money that parents are willing to pay. |
Or they can't find another club that will take them, so the pay the 5K. The market always speaks the truth. |
There will always be a long list of parents willing to pay for their rec kid to play travel so they can say their kid plays for a "high level" team. |
A lot of money for a GA badge thinking that’s a ticket to a college recruitment. |
| Does this cover all costs associated with the team? |
Who are you to judge what is a lot of money to spend? Have you seen the money spent on the cars in the parking lot? Have you heard where these families vacationed over the summer? A few thousand on soccer is peanuts. |
You must not be GA or MLS Next... 5k is the fee for those...outrageous! |
Thanks for agreeing with me! The market is working. You define club success as winning soccer games. I define club success as a growing customer base and healthy profits. That is winning! |
It covers all costs paid to the club. But there are many more costs for those on the team. Travel costs will easily be another $5k. Almost every player on these teams is also paying for training/skills/conditioning/equipment outside the club to the tune of hundreds per month. And don't forget the tournament merch that will be purchased. If you need to ask how much this stuff is going to cost, top level soccer is not for you. |

Ok, first of all you are all very judgemental and rude.
My child had offers from other clubs so they play at VRSC because we made a choice based on many factors. Someone mentioned cars and vacations. Well, we drive average cars not high end at all. Second, we actually didn't take a vacation tihs year due to work commitments. When we have taken vacation it was just an average beach vacation and one to a theme park resort in Florida. Again, a typical American family vacation. Third, we don't pay a ton of extra each month for outside training/skills/conditioning/equipment. We paid for some extra training over the summer and that was it. My child is on the top team and has been for 7 years. Also, as I said VRSC top team was not the only offer given. So the "rec" player commit is uncalled for a crap. The only extra cost we pay is travel expenses, hotel, food and merch for tournaments. Expenses can be what you as a family choose. So if you choose to pay for extra training that is on you, it is not required. Just because this isn't a club for you it is a good club that many want to play for. |
Not even for college recruitment lol. The people I was speaking of that I know personally couldn't make the Nva or Loudoun team but their kid wanted to play travel so they went to Rev. |
|
The way they get players into this club is to promise them a spot on a top team so they come. Sold to highest bidder.
"I define club success as a growing customer base and healthy profits. That is winning!" -from above, spoken like an insider. |
| Spirit might be going bankrupt and the people who fly that way have bad BO. |
Literally built off neighboring clubs’ cuts and leftovers |
